A fabulous antique carnelian and rose-cut diamond ring set in 15ct gold, circa 1820. Following the much-anticipated "Vogue" recommendations for winter 2005/2006, bold antique jewelry is still at the forefront of the most sought-after collections. With a collaboration of "fine" authentic antique pieces and Demi-fine reproductions, premium department stores now have vintage and antique jewelry at the forefront of their collections. This authentic antique ring features a cabouchon carnelion measuring 16mm x 18mm and is surrounded by 33 x 0.03pt rose-cut diamonds. The solid gold setting is unmarked but has been tested as 15ct gold (Industry standard Mizar). The Carnelion was a popular gemstone and prized by Victorians as they believed it to possess protective qualities and was often used as an amulet.
