Product Description
Hermès “Les Armes de Paris” Silk Scarf – Original 1954 Vintage Edition
Rare Hermès silk twill scarf “Les Armes de Paris”, designed by Hugo Grygkar and originally released in 1954, during the golden post-war era of Hermès scarf creation. Featuring a refined heraldic composition inspired by the historic coat of arms of Paris and its motto Fluctuat nec mergitur, this early edition embodies the craftsmanship, cultural depth, and timeless elegance that define the most sought-after vintage Hermès scarves.
Created at a time when Hermès scarves were conceived as true works of art, this design reflects the house’s strong connection to French heritage and classical symbolism. Highly sought-after by collectors, vintage Hermès silk scarves from the 1950s are increasingly rare on the international market.
This piece is an early 1950s production, identifiable by the “Hermès Paris” signature without copyright, a feature consistent with first editions and predating later reissues.

Ivory / ecru background
Deep red and royal blue motifs
Antique gold details
Original historical colorway consistent with early Hermès silk scarf productions from the 1950s.
